John Mayer, Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live In Los Angeles Leif Vollebekk, New Ways Tyson Motsenbocker, Someday I'll Make It All up to You "Where the Light Is" was one of my earliest fixations, elevating my value for instrumentation. "New Ways" was my intro to Leif, my top inspiration. Tyson's lyricism has captivated me from day 1–"Fire Escape" is my #1 song of the past decade. Given the complexity of what I was feeling when I wrote it, its simplicity and warmth are grounding. It's as nostalgic as childhood, honest as a hard week, and hopeful as a new day.
