Liima

Liima (Finnish for "glue") is a collaborative project between Casper Clausen, Mads Brauer, and Rasmus Stolberg -- all co-founders of Danish indie electronic group Efterklang -- along with Finnish jazz percussionist Tatu Rönkkö. Like Efterklang, Liima utilizes soaring vocals, samples, and delicate electronic beats, but it has much more of a free, improvisatory nature. The quartet was established in 2014 when the Danish musicians were invited to perform at Our Festival in Finland. The group spontaneously wrote material for the event, and enjoying their creative freedom, they continued performing at various venues and festivals across Europe. Liima recorded their debut album in Berlin with producer Jonas Verwijnen in 2015; titled ii, it was issued by 4AD in 2016. ~ Paul Simpson
