About Laurie Geltman

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. During the pandemic I'd stand under my lemon tree in LA doing exercises; a vague memory came back where I'm standing outside with my nursery school class (in Baltimore) singing the folk song "Lemon Tree." It's the first time I sang in public I guess. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Elton John, Tumbleweed Connection Joni Mitchell, Hejira Neil Young, After the Gold Rush Hard to pick my top 3 Joni albums let alone my top 3 all-time favorites! Neil represents my guitar style, both acoustic and raw electric, Hejira because it's a perfect song cycle, a true work of art and I still listen to Tumbleweed on road trips. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Payoff” When you live with your albums for a long time, some songs age better than others. I find Payoff still very listenable. From the moment Jim Gambino's B3 comes in-such a cool vibe, Patty Griffin sang harmony and Daniel Kellar's violin is gorgeous.
