About Lauren Oxford

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember most clearly the joy of listening to music—a CD my mom or dad played in the car, or physically sitting on the wooden bench next to my grandmother as she played her favorite hymn on her out-of-tune-piano (bemoaning that it was out-of-tune). What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Joanna Newsom, Ys Karine Polwart, Traces Laura Marling, A Creature I Don't Know There is so much good music that exists in the world, and these three artists in particular are my blueprint. Laura's voice & guitar playing, Karine's melodic sense & storytelling, Joanna's lyrical genius & lush orchestration—all truly masterful. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Without a doubt, a highlight of my life was flying to Oregon and recording my album in June of 2022 with treasured friends who also just so happen to be brilliant musicians. Those twelve days were so special, and I will cherish that memory always. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love nothing more than to support myself writing and playing and singing music for the rest of my life. I want to travel and see so many places I've never been, and meet amazing people wherever I go.
