In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a child, I laid my head on the floor, to feel the soundwaves move through me as my sister played piano. I began playing at age 8, and continued the practice, laying my head on the keys as I pressed down. My earliest songs were written this way. Bon Iver, For Emma, Forever Ago Coldplay, A Rush of Blood to the Head Phoebe Bridgers, Stranger in the Alps The arrangements in A Rush of Blood to the Head moved my soul in new ways. Similarly, For Emma, Forever Ago and Stranger in the Alps turned into soundtracks as I navigated transitioning into adulthood and motherhood, learning about love and loss. This song helped guide me into my most recent work focusing on transformation.
