In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Ever since I was a small child anything that made a sound was very intriguing to me. The childlike curiosity still carries on today through authentic music What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Black Star, Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star Shafiq Husayn, Shafiq En' A-Free-Ka Sublime, Sublime (Deluxe Edition) All three of these are very classic and also inspire me all the time. Tell us why you chose this song. “Home” I was very homesick after moving to California and wanted to eat food from back home in Chicago badly. That inspired the chorus, and then I reminisced on my childhood growing up in a disadvantaged part of south chicagoland. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? By far the most memorable moment is my 2023 Grammy win as a composer for J. Ivy. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yea I plan to tour the world singing and rapping in both English and Japanese
