Carole King, A Beautiful Collection: Best Of Carole King Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Prince & The Revolution, Purple Rain Soundtrack from the Motion Picture Purple Rain- I'm a Minnesota girl. It's Prince. Next question. Carole King- One of the most prolific, talented songwriters in the history of music. Lauryn Hill- My first taste of neo-soul mixed with hip hop. A special album. Tell us why you chose this song. “Bad Night in Heaven” This is one of my favorite songs I've ever written. Hauntingly beautiful with just piano, violin and vocal. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing Bad Night in Heaven with the house band at Ashford & Simpson's Sugar Bar in NYC just a day after performing it at Jazz at Lincoln Center for the ASCAP awards.
