In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I actually wanted to play trombone but I got the name wrong! I told the teacher I wanted to play trumpet. When they sent me into the trumpet class on that first day, I was the only one who could get a sound out of the horn. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Voodoo Hiatus Kaiyote, Choose Your Weapon J.Kelr, King Oliver Trumpet, Grizzly Peak Blvd. - EP I heard these first two albums within a couple years of each other at a pivotal time in my life. I grew up on a lot music from the Soulquarians and Voodoo really captures the essence of that era. Hiatus just takes it one step further. Tell us why you chose this song. “Dreams” This melody was an epiphany to me in the studio and when I heard it I knew it was the one. One of those rare moments in the studio to feel complete confidence in what you're playing. Listening to this always take me to that place of freedom again.
