In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My first concert was a KISS concert at age 8. Still stands as the loudest concert I have ever attended. I spent the entire car ride home with my Dad trying to figure out why we had to scream at each other in order to hear one another speak. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Igor Stravinsky, Stravinsky: Firebird Suite & Petrushka Suite John Coltrane, A Love Supreme Steve Vai, Passion and Warfare 3 Albums that were impactful musical "spiritual" experiences. All had sounds and textures that I had never heard. Combinations of notes and chords I had not yet played. All changed my trajectory as a guitarist and composer. Musically enlightened! Tell us why you chose this song. “Birdsong (Alternate Take)” Aptly named, Birdsong captured the process of me discovering my truest self. After a full evening of many attempts, this song was recorded LIVE in one take at about 4:00am. It required a depth to reach inside in order to allow this song to come out. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? L.A. Stories! I had an opportunity to audition for a BIG HAIR band in Los Angeles - Dokken. I was to replace guitarist George Lynch. Needing new material, I wrote the song Naughty by Nature. The song got me the audition, then won me the gig. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I am incredibly eclectic with my music and projects. Much of my work has been in a supportive role. Bands, singers and session work. Taking "my" guitar and "my" music on the road to play and share with the world would be the full bucket list.
