A mainstay of the New York City scene as well as a versatile drummer sought after by both the rock and avant-garde jazz world, Kenny Wolleson has provided backbeats for artists ranging from Tom Waits to Bill Frissell to John Zorn. Fittingly, Wolleson was a founding member of the New Klezmer Trio/Klezmorim, a critically hailed outfit that melded klezmer with jazz and a surprising dose of rock from the 1990s on. He also played frequently with an unlikely crossover act, the experimental jazz troupe Sex Mob.
