About Jon Z

Latin trap and reggaetón singer/rapper Jon Z made his first freestyle videos in 2014, leading to a record deal with award-winning producer Boy Wonder (aka Chosen Few).

∙ The Puerto Rican artist’s 2015 debut, The Game Is About to Change, established his signature style of layering quirky raps over a blend of reggaetón, trap, and hip-hop.
∙ With his eight-minute-long 2017 track, “Super Jon-Z (Residente Challenge),” he beat rapper Residente’s record for most words performed by an artist in one hip-hop song—2,109.
∙ Jon Z and his cousin, trap singer Ele a el Dominio, teamed up on 2018’s Super Saiyan Flow, which peaked at No. 13 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Albums chart.
∙ He earned his first US Latin hit when Latin pop superstar Enrique Iglesias joined him on a version of the rapper’s love song “Después Que Te Perdí” in 2019.
∙ The 2019 video for Dutch duo Yellow Claw’s grinding dance track “El Terror”—which featured Jon Z and masked Florida rapper Lil Toe—has been viewed more than 250,000 times.
∙ At the 2020 Premios Tu Música Urbano (the premier awards show for Latin urban music), he was nominated for Top New Male Generation and Urban Pop Song.
