About John Lazz

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember, when I was about 11 years old, suddenly paying attention to how songs I heard on the radio were fitting together. I was beginning to hear that the music was made up of different "parts" and that they fit together in a certain way. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dream Theater, Images and Words Queensrÿche, Operation: Mindcrime (Deluxe Edition) Steve Vai, Passion and Warfare Steve Vai was and is a huge influence on the way I approach guitar playing and recording. Queensryche was an influence on the way I view how intricate music can be. Dream Theater's influence then added a modern and heavy twist to my progressive side. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Thunder” What makes this song special to me is that it touches a place in my soul, the place that searches for meaning in the everyday things in life, and the little bit of peace that finding it can bring. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? So far, I'd say the most memorable moment would be the time I played the Viper Room in Hollywood, playing guitar for a project of Gina Shock's called "K-five". There was a super-cool vibe playing there, something I'll never forget. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The largest crowd I've played to so far was 5,000. On my bucket list would be to someday top that. The energy back and forth from a crowd that size would be spectacular.
