Johannes Alanus

About Johannes Alanus

John Aleyn was a medieval composer of the fourteenth century who is attributed with writing the motet "Sub Arturo plebs". His hand may also have scored a "Gloria" and a "Sarum Agnus." Characteristics of his work include an unusually spirited rhythmic "text" even though the "musical" beat is consistent. ~ Keith Johnson
