About Jay'e R.

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was around 1, maybe two years old. In 1987, I heard Whitney Houston's song, "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) and I knew at that point that I wanted to sing. I remember seeing her perform as a kid, and thinking, "that'll be me someday." What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Whitney Houston, I Look to You Whitney Houston, I'm Your Baby Tonight Whitney Houston, Whitney The Whitney album was the first album that I ever heard which made me fall in love with her voice. I'm Your Baby Tonight was the album I listened to that I knew I wanted to be a singer like Whitney. I Look to You because it was Whitney's last album. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “I've Found Love” I love this song because out of all the songs I have ever written, I wrote it in a way that signifies how I would feel finding love. When someone who you know is for you, steals your heart and is your sun in a world of darkness and loneliness. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I have so many, but I will have to say that my most memorable was when "Like I Love You" was released and it debuted at #1 on the iTunes Top 100 Albums. To be an Independent Artist and have your debut album hit at #1 was groundbreaking and memorable. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Many things actually, but to put out more albums and to one day open for a major artist. I would also love to one day win a Grammy and have some of my music top the Billboard charts. I think that those are achievable.
