About Jamie xx

Working with and without his Mercury Music Prize-winning group the xx, Jamie xx (Jamie Smith) established himself as a forward-thinking producer. In 2008, he co-founded the xx, who recorded one of the most well-received debut albums of the decade. As well as reworking his own band's tracks, he also became a sought-after remixer. His atmospheric version of Florence + the Machine's "You've Got the Love" sparked XL boss Richard Russell's interest, which led to We're New Here (2011), a remix set of Gil Scott-Heron's I'm New Here. After some club-oriented solo singles, additional remixes, and collaborations with the likes of Drake and Alicia Keys, Jamie xx released In Colour (2015), which featured Four Tet, Young Thug, and bandmate Romy Madley-Croft. ~ Jon O'Brien
