About Jakub Józef Orliński

A pioneer of the countertenor voice in Poland, Jakub Józef Orliński has become a star of international opera in the 2010s. He has made critically acclaimed appearances in the U.S. and Germany. When young, he sang in a male choir and got a taste of international touring. He attended the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, then went on for a second graduate degree at Juilliard. Important roles began to earn Orliński major international attention in the late 2010s. A widely publicized video recording of Vivaldi's "Vedrò con mio diletto" (from the opera Giustino, RV 717) made the charismatic young countertenor an internet star. In 2018, he released Anima Sacra, an album of little-known, 18th century sacred arias. He issued the album Anima Æterna in 2021. He is also a member of the breakdancing group Skill Fantastikz Crew.
