About JAGMAC

A dance-oriented pop band, JAGMAC features six siblings. The group first garnered attention in 2015 with the singles "Existence" and "Get Your Groove Back." Following their Top 20 Billboard Hot Club-charting single "Soldier," they issued their 2018 EP Right Back with You. Hailing from Baltimore, JAGMAC formed in 2014. The group, whose name is derived from the first initial of each bandmembers' names, features the talents of siblings Jared, Angelique, Gabriel, and Emmanuel "Manjo," Alyssa, and Carlos "CJ" Patalinghug. Born to parents of half-Filipino and half-Polish heritage, the Patalinghug siblings grew up studying taekwondo in their father's martial arts studio, a skill that later influenced their group choreography. In 2005, they all collaborated on writing a song for their father's surprise birthday party, a process which in part inspired them to form a band. Soon they were performing at local events and charity concerts. Initially going by the name Soul Sonic 6, they also cycled through the band names Word Up and Musix before officially settling on JAGMAC in 2014. By the end of 2015, they had released several videos and singles online including "Existence," "Get Your Groove Back," and "What’s Right with Me." The following year, they supported Little Mix on tour and issued the single "Soldier," which hit number 15 on Billboard's Hot Club Chart. In 2018, they embarked on a U.S. tour and released their debut EP Right Back with You. Also that year, they were named Radio Disney's "NBT" (Next Big Thing). The group's sophomore EP, Like a Band, arrived in July 2019. ~ Matt Collar
