About Jade Alston

An R&B singer and songwriter from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Jade Alston once went by the alias Jasmine Jai as a teenaged video jockey for a local program. While still a teenager, she was tapped to work for Kelis as a background vocalist. She then stepped out on her own and opened for the likes of Amerie, Fat Joe, and 50 Cent. Within a few years, she became one of the more notable independent R&B artists. The ten-track release Single on a Saturday Night featured songs written with Chuck Harmony and Claude Kelly. In January 2013, she followed it with Sunday Morning: Single on a Saturday Night, Pt. 2. A heart-muscle condition slowed her down, but she worked on a proper album and reached the minimum goal for its Kickstarter campaign within two weeks. She planned the album, titled We Will Live, for release in 2014.
