In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a child, certain moments in music shook me so deeply that I didn’t know what to do. Before I understood what it meant to be moved, I would sometimes skip tracks to escape those sounds, though they taught me how to listen. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? King Crimson, In the Court of the Crimson King (Expanded Edition) Punch Brothers, The Phosphorescent Blues The Beatles, Rubber Soul I chose them because each expanded my sense of what music can hold: melodic clarity in The Beatles, precision and imagination in Punch Brothers, and bold scale in King Crimson. They still remind me that sound can be both rigorous and free. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Meeting Point” I chose Meeting Point because it was born from the emotions of meeting and parting in stations and airports. It carries movement, distance, and memory, but also a sense of warmth and quiet comfort that feels very close to me. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments was hearing Rhythm Bomb with Nieuw Ensemble in 2018. I loved seeing audiences laugh and enjoy a piece built as a real game onstage, and it meant even more when the ensemble revived it for their farewell concert. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’d love to create larger projects that dissolve the boundaries between genres and bring composition, performance, and curation together. Building spaces for that kind of curiosity and encounter is still high on my list.
