K-pop boy band iKON became celebrated pop stars throughout Asia after gaining fame on the South Korean reality competition shows WIN: Who is Next and Mix & Match.
∙ iKON’s 2015 debut LP, Welcome Back, topped South Korean and Taiwanese album charts, thanks to the smash hit single “My Type.”
∙ Their Japanese-language version of “Dumb & Dumber” was certified Gold and earned the band their first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.
∙ At the 2016 Japan Record Awards, the group won Best New Artist honors.
∙ Their US breakthrough came in 2018 with their sophomore LP, Return, which reached the Top 10 of Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart.
∙ During the 2019 South Korean Gaon Chart Music Awards, iKON won three honors: Producer of the Year, Song of the Year, and Long Run Song of the Year (the latter two awards for “Love Scenario”).
