About iKON

Along with the likes of Sonamoo and Kyuhyun, iKON were among the pop acts to debut at the top of South Korea's Gaon album chart in 2015. B.I., Bobby, Chanwoo, Donghyuk, Jinhwhan, Ju-ne, and Yunhyeong formed the group through the reality programs WIN: Who Is Next and Mix & Match. All but Chanwoo competed as Team B on the former program and released singles under that name, beginning with "Just Another Boy" in 2013. After Chanwoo joined, iKON arrived on YG Entertainment in 2015 with several singles, highlighted by the number one Gaon chart hits "My Type" and "Apology," and the Japanese "Dumb and Dumber," which topped Billboard Japan's Hot 100. Half-album and full-album editions of Welcome Back likewise reached number one in South Korea. A few singles followed during 2016 and 2017, during which the group completed its first Asian tours. A live album and a couple compilations also preceded the chart-topping single "Love Scenario" and proper full-length follow-up Return, both of which were issued in 2018. After completing their ongoing series of New Kids EPs, iKON packaged them together in 2019 into a full-length album. That same year also saw a pair of live releases from their 2018 and 2019 tours of Japan as well as the departure of member B.I.. ~ Andy Kellman
