An extreme American progressive metal outfit led by producer and guitar wizard Davide Tiso (Ephel Duath, Gospel of the Witches), Howling Sycamore deliver a heady blast of layered, downtuned riffs, extreme drumming, howling sax, and soaring prog vocals. Formed in 2016, the group features the talents of multi-instrumentalist Tiso, drummer Hannes Grossman (Alkaloid, ex-Obscura), and vocalist Jason McMaster (Watchtower). For their eponymous 2018 Prosthetic Records-issued debut, the band enlisted help from guest musicians Bruce Lamont (Yakuza, Brain Tentacles) on baritone saxophone, and Kevin Hufnagel (Dysrhythmia, Gorguts) and Fester (Burials, Humorous) on guitars. ~ James Christopher Monger
