About Horse Meat Disco

A vital part of post-millennial queer club culture, Horse Meat Disco are a British DJ collective with a cross-continental following and a varied discography of mix albums and compilations augmented by original productions, edits, and remixes. Birthed at the Eagle club in London, HMD have continuously grown with additional residences in Berlin and New York, numerous appearances at festivals and other events, and commercial releases dating back to 2009. From that year through 2014, HMD put together four volumes of an eponymous mix series heavy on deep disco and post-disco of the '70s and '80s. They diversified three years later with their first single, a midtempo neo-disco collaboration with singer Roy Inc. that led to 2020's Love and Dancing, an album featuring Kathy Sledge, N'Dea Davenport, and Amy Douglas. In 2025, the foursome compiled Disco & Boogie from Brazil, Vol. 1, continuing their devotion to all manner of dance music beneath the surface.
