About Honey cutt

The surf-tinged indie pop of Honey Cutt is the creation of Kaley Honeycutt, whose pensive, vulnerable lyrics often belie sunny surfaces. Briefly known as Baby!, the group made their Honey Cutt debut in 2020 with Coasting.

A native of Asheville, North Carolina, singer/guitarist Kaley Honeycutt has written songs for as long as she can remember. Her family relocated to Orlando, Florida when she was eight, but she didn't start performing her songs in small venues around town until she was 21. When financial aid for college eventually fell through, she dropped out and committed more time to writing and recording music.

After moving to Boston, Massachusetts, she formed Baby!, which introduced her bouncy, wistful indie pop to New England. The group issued the EP Pick Me in April 2017, following it with the Orlando-inspired full-length Sunny, F.L. that August. Although Baby! gained a following locally and graduated from basement shows to opening slots for acts like Gus Dapperton and Calpurnia, their name created confusion with other groups on the road as well as online, so they rebranded as Honey Cutt in May 2018.

Recorded with Baby! members Ari Blut (bass) and Chris Chew (drums), Honey Cutt's debut album, Coasting, arrived on Kanine Records in March 2020. It was accompanied by a U.S. headlining tour.
