For a short period in the mid-2010s, this prolific Glasgow-born techno DJ and producer released some of the best-selling contemporaneous tracks in the genre. Between 2008 and 2014, much of McKay's output was issued on Soma -- a label founded by his teenage idols Slam -- including his 2009 debut album, Machine Make Noise. However, late 2013 brought the genesis of a game-changing relationship with Drumcode, which not only gave his profile a boost but also led McKay to DJ regularly in mainland Europe, the U.S., and Canada. In 2017, he formed Alias (later renamed Alias GB) with his brother, Ryan, with whom he issued a handful of singles in the ensuing years. However, McKay's solo endeavors -- incorporating a continually busy release schedule -- remained his primary concern into the 2020s.
