Harlem Shakes

Like an American Futureheads, Brooklyn's Harlem Shakes distinguish themselves from the jaded garage and post-punk revival fray through their bright, ebullient vocals. The group, who met in college before shifting to New York, have an open, everyone-sings policy which means every track is enlivened with harmonies and clever interplay. TECHNICOLOR HEALTH, released in 2009 and produced by Chris Zane, sounded every bit like its vibrant name, and followed 2007's well-loved BURNING BIRTHDAYS EP. Harlem Shakes have toured with Vampire Weekend and Deerhoof, and have opened for Arctic Monkeys and Wire.
