In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I have been promoting ‘the other sound of Latin America’ for years, with great success. Audiences invariably express delight and gratitude, and my albums PALIMPSESTO (Cuban piano music) and FRESCO (Latin American piano music) have been well-received. Tell us why you chose this song. “Vals No.3 (Arrangement)” The arrangement of 'Vals No.3' by Agustín 'Mangoré' Barrios from Paraguay is probably the first that I've ever written. The piece seemed to lend itself perfectly for the piano as well. A worthy addition to my Latin American piano music album FRESCO. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2019 my company KyG Productions organized the ‘Around the World on Two Pianos’ series at The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, The Netherlands: 3 different concerts in 3 months, in collaboration with Ramón Valle, Ariel González and Henk Mak van Dijk. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I am always creating! Next up: a CD with exclusively my own music, and ARIOSO (my piano trio arrangements of Cuban songs).
