About Gun

Hard-rocking Glaswegian band Gun first came to public attention in 1989 with their striking single "Better Days," when its powerful, driving rock thrash graced the U.K. charts. Along with the follow-up, "Money," it formed part of their first album, Taking on the World. The band's second LP, Gallus, charted higher than their debut, and 1994's pop-focused Swagger gave them their first meaningful international success. This was thanks to its inclusion of "Word Up," a Cameo cover and the group's only U.K. Top Ten hit. After a three-year sabbatical, their name was adjusted to G.U.N. ahead of a fourth album, 0141 632 6326. A lengthier hiatus ensued until they reconvened in 2008, and 2012's Break the Silence became their first LP in 15 years. After 2015's Frantic and 2017's Favourite Pleasures, 2022's nostalgic The Calton Songs saw G.U.N. re-record their classic material acoustically, and 2024's Hombres kept their rock flame burning.
