About Greg Cornett
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is holding my ear up to the record player speaker and listening to a 45 RPM version of "Shake Me I Rattle, Squeeze Me I Cry". I would have been about 4 1/2 yrs old. "The Sound Of Music" soundtrack album would soon follow. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Flatt & Scruggs, The Best of Flatt and Scruggs Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Sound Of Music (Original Soundtrack Recording) Merle Haggard & The Strangers, Same Train, A Different Time: Merle Haggard Sings the Great Songs of Jimmie Rodgers The Sound Of Music soundtrack was such an inspiration. My family did not purchase many albums & this was a special treat. Merle Haggard provided insight into Jimmie Rodgers and I was amazed. Flatt & Scruggs started me on my bluegrass journey What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was fortunate to perform with my friend Wayne Henderson in front of thousands at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. It was a fabulous moment and the crowd loved what we did.
