About Great Wide Nothing

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Daniel: "I grew up in a musical household. My dad was a baptist music minister & my mom taught choir. They played a lot of different artists in the car with me - Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Collective Soul, Ricky Martin, and of course P&W/CCM stuff." What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Iron Maiden, Piece of Mind (Remastered) Muse, Black Holes and Revelations Rush, Moving Pictures (Remastered) We've each got different tastes/influences & what we're into is always changing, so narrowing our faves down to three is pretty much impossible. But these records were big influences as we got into music. They're highly present in our DNA as a band. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Best We Can Do Is Laugh” This sums up a lot of what we're about as a band. Big, crazy arrangements & playing, but done with a kind of raw energy & promoting compassion & community as what we have to hold on to to make it through hard times. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Our first tour was a lot of fun. We booked it DIY with no budget & spent several days loaded up in Dylan's Honda Pilot with a cooler full of groceries from home. We stayed in s******e hotels & spent hours each day sightseeing. It was a blast. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? A lot actually. One small, short-term goal is just to do a longer East Coast or Midwest run than we've been able to up till now. Maybe play some festivals. Eventually we'd love to hit the West Coast...UK/Europe & Japan would be also be rad someday.
