About Gonzalo Vargas M.

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. It has to be my mother listening to The Beatles. She was a fan of their early songs, so it must be listening to A Hard Day’s Night. She was also a big fan of ABBA, Earth, Wind & Fire, and songs from the disco era. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Gustavo Cerati, Bocanada Justice, A Cross the Universe (Live) Massive Attack, Mezzanine In the ’90s, I loved trip-hop—Tricky, Morcheeba. Then this album blew my mind and made me want to make music. Cerati’s work is timeless. Justice’s album later rekindled my passion for electronic music during a decade of uninspired pop. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Relato A” This song is my favorite. It starts with strings, evolving into an electric soundscape with sparrows singing. Its uplifting mood sets the tone for an album that later descends into a spiral of deep sonic emotions. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I’ve been a visual artist for 25 years, so this is all new to me. Recording, mixing, mastering, and publishing have been incredible experiences—each step filled with memorable moments. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’d love to record live strings and wind instruments in a professional studio to blend with my synths. Having it mastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road and released worldwide in digital and vinyl would be a dream.
