Girl K

Helmed by singer and songwriter Kathy Patino, Girl K merge bouncy, bittersweet indie pop with moments of hooky, fuzzier indie rock and diversions into steelier pop. After releasing the melancholy debut LP Sunflower Court as a solo effort in 2017, Girl K became a four-piece with 2019's For Now. While remaining squarely in the realm of guitar-based indie pop, Patino took influence from sleeker '80s pop for the 2021 EP Girl K Is for the People. Taking this development several steps further, the project's third full-length, 2024's My Future, represented a shift into bolder electronic pop concocted with producer Heartgaze.
