About George Harrison

As lead guitarist for the Beatles, George Harrison provided the band with a lyrical style of playing in which every note mattered. The period from 1968 onward was his richest with the Beatles, as he contributed two classic songs, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Here Comes the Sun," along with "Something," the first Harrison song on the A-side of a Beatles single. For his first solo record following the group's 1970 breakup, All Things Must Pass, Harrison collaborated with producer Phil Spector. In 1987, he returned to the top of the charts with Cloud Nine and "Got My Mind Set on You." ~ Bruce Eder
