About Gazelle Twin

As Gazelle Twin, producer, composer, and visual artist Elizabeth Bernholz explores 21st century dystopia with uncompromising electronic music and striking imagery. Though her concepts change continually, Bernholz's commitment to unnerving her listeners remains constant. She transformed layers of murky loops and vocals into a haunted metropolis of sounds and memories on 2011's The Entire City, then emphasized her music's industrial leanings and her visual presentation on 2014's visceral Unflesh (to personify the discomfort in the music, she wore her old-school gym clothes on the album cover). She linked sound and vision even more closely on 2018's unflinching Pastoral, blending the traditional (English folk music and garb) and the contemporary (assaultive electronics and sneakers) in her examination of the intolerance lurking within English culture. Gazelle Twin's theatricality made Bernholz a natural for stage productions like 2016's Kingdom Come and scores including 2021's The Power.
