After a lengthy stint as a busker, Irish singer-songwriter Gavin James scored a viral hit with his 2015 debut single, “Say Hello,” which won the Choice Music Prize for Song of the Year.
∙ James and Ed Sheeran played together at a pub in 2014, and Sheeran tweeted, “Record labels, if you ignore Gavin James, you are losing out.”
∙ 2015’s Live At Whelans made the Top 10 on the US iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart after he performed a Magnetic Fields cover, “The Book of Love,” on Dancing with the Stars.
∙ Irish EDM producer Mark McCabe punched up James’ emotional ballad “Nervous” in a remix that went double-Platinum in four countries.
∙ He lent his soaring vocals to a pair international hits in 2017: “Moments” by Australian hip-hop group Bliss n Eso, and “Tired” by Norwegian DJ Alan Walker.
