About frederic

Japanese rock band frederic was formed in 2009 by twin brothers Kenji and Koji Mihara, who took the name from a 1967 children’s book by Leo Lionni.

∙ In 2014, the group scored their first big hit with “Oddloop,” a song that became even bigger when it was picked up for a major ad campaign two years later.
∙ Despite their rock background, frederic also embraced the otaku world, contributing music to such anime series as Love and Lies and Kyoufu! Zombie Neko.
∙ The band’s 2016 major-label debut album, Frederhythm, peaked at No. 7 and spent 11 weeks on the Japanese charts.
∙ frederic—Koji Mihara in particular—has also penned songs for other Japanese acts, including BATTEN GIRLS, Minori Suzuki, and 3-nen E-gumi Utatan.
