About Fred De Palma

Fred De Palma is the stage alias of Italian rapper and singer Federico Palana. Starting out in the freestyle competition scenes of Turin and Milan, he released his quasi-eponymous debut, F.D.P., in 2012. A year later, he earned a spot as one of 12 contestants on the second season of MTV Spit, a freestyle rap competition that aired on MTV Italy. He followed that appearance with his second album, 2014's Lettera al Successo, released on Marracash's Roccia label. It spent a week on Italy's album chart at number 35. His Warner Music debut, BoyFred, followed in October 2015 and spent several weeks on the chart, reaching number six. In 2016, De Palma could be heard guesting on albums by Patty Pravo (Eccomi) and Shade (Clownstrofobia), and in 2017 he released five singles, including "Non Tornare a Casa" and "Il Mio Game," in advance of his Warner follow-up. Titled Hanglover, it arrived that September. ~ Marcy Donelson
