About Flutronix

An innovative and exciting flute duo who combine elements of classical, jazz, R&B, electronica, and urban hip-hop into a 21st century stew that is as refreshing as it is startling and unique, Flutronix formed in 2008 when Nathalie Joachim and Allison Loggins-Hull, two young flutists, met on MySpace, discovering that they lived five blocks away from each other in Brooklyn. Both had extensive musical training, Joachim at Julliard and Loggins-Hull at New York University and the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, and had been playing the flute since they were children; Joachim had developed into a pretty fair singer as well. They clicked together, both as players and with a shared vision of where to take things, and by 2010 Flutronix became a professional duo, self-managing every aspect of their career, from writing to publishing, booking, playing, recording, and releasing their music. A self-titled debut album, co-produced by Flutronix and Steven Berson, appeared in 2010, with a second album, 2.0, arriving in 2014, both on the duo's own Flutronix Records imprint. ~ Steve Leggett
