In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember sitting in my living room as a kid and listening to records on my parents' giant furniture-sized Hi-Fi stereo and wishing I could make my feelings into songs like the people on those records. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Brand New, Deja Entendu Minor Threat, Out of Step Refused, The Shape of Punk to Come TSOPTC: Refused broke every convention for punk and rewrote the book on genre. Deja Entendu: I love the honest sonic flood of emotion and dynamics in every song. Out of Step: The first time I heard it, I got a headache but turned the tape right over. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “C.P.R.” This song is based on the true story of watching my father die when I was 18. I changed some parts to make it work as a song, but it all comes from that horrible night in May 1994. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Finally being able to capture the music I have been writing for over 2 decades in a way I can share with the world has been amazing. I feel like I have built a legacy of my passions and philosophies that can live beyond me. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My biggest aim as a solo artist is to provide as expansive a soundscape of genres as possible and completely reproduce what is in my head through my music.
