About FarWarmth

FARWARMTH is the alias of Afonso Arrepia Ferreira, a Portuguese composer who creates vast, deeply emotional electro-acoustic/ambient pieces. Recordings such as 2020's Momentary Glow transform acoustic improvisations into glitchy, ghostly soundscapes laced with static and distortion. Ferreira's first album as FARWARMTH was 2016's Beneath the Pulse, the premier release on his digital imprint, Alienação. The darker, noisier Immeasurable Heaven appeared on London's ACR label in 2018. Ferreira and Rui P. Andrade began a collaboration called HRNS, which released two singles and an EP in 2018, as well as 2019 full-length Naomi. Third FARWARMTH album Momentary Glow appeared on Planet Mu in 2020. Recorded over the course of four years, the album was mainly created from source material recorded at an artists' residency in 2018, which featured Ferreira's friends and family members improvising on cello, flute, and accordion. ~ Paul Simpson
