About Faith No More
Before starting the hard rock group Faith No More, drummer Mike Bordin and guitarist Jim Martin played in a high school garage band with future Metallica bassist Cliff Burton. ∙ Future Hole frontwoman Courtney Love was one of the Faith No More’s early lead singers. ∙ “Epic,” their breakthrough hit, was ranked No. 30 on VH1’s 40 Greatest Metal Songs list. ∙ Jim Martin had a cameo in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, which also featured the band’s song “The Perfect Crime” in a key scene. ∙ MC Hammer sampled their 1987 UK hit “We Care a Lot” for his hit “Pray.” ∙ Rolling Stone ranked their reunion album, Sol Invictus, No. 2 on its list of the 20 Best Metal Albums of 2015. ∙ Deftones, Slipknot, System Of A Down, and Korn credit Faith No More as a major influence, while Krist Novoselic said the band “paved the way for Nirvana.”
