Eye Flys

A band dedicated to exploring the outer limits of heaviness, Philadelphia's Eye Flys make music that's dark, intense, and hard-hitting. Eye Flys' sound takes the traditional components of metal -- dense guitars, thick bass, thunderous drumming, barking vocals -- and turns the impact up to ten, despite forsaking speedy tempos. Comprised of members of noted grindcore bands, Eye Flys follow a creative direction that's slower and soupier, evidenced abundantly by their 2020 debut album, Tub of Lard. Following the re-opening of live music venues after the COVID-19 pandemic, Eye Flys took to the road for the better part of two years. In 2023 they entered Developing Nations studio and recorded their eponymously titled sophomore outing. It was released by Thrill Jockey in January 2024.
