About Every Little Thing

Japanese pop/soft-rock band Every Little Thing came together in 1996 when singer Kaori Mochida—a former member of girl group Kuro Buta All-Stars—was introduced to guitarist Ichiro Ito. ∙ Over the course of their career, the group has charted 32 Top 10 singles and 10 Top 10 albums. ∙ Their 1998 LP, Time to Destination, spent nearly a year on the Japanese charts and is the 10th best-selling album in the country’s history. ∙ In 2006, they celebrated their 10th anniversary by performing over two days at the legendary Nippon Budokan arena. ∙ For her first solo album, 2009’s Moka, Mochida collaborated with arranger/multi-instrumentalist Sean Lennon and drummer Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M.). ∙ Both sides their 41st single, “Sora/Koe,” were used as theme songs for 2011’s Pokémon the Movie: Black—Victini and Reshiram and White—Victini and Zekrom.
