In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is going on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Grand Ole Opry when I was six. I remember standing on that stage and feeling like the whole place fizzed — even when it was empty. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Seventeen” People won’t believe it, but I really did write Seventeen when I was 11 — playing the chords in the bathroom, just like Paul Simon used to do. I knew it worked, even then. It’s simple, honest, and the start of everything for me.
