Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Evan Blum makes upbeat pop with a laid-back, heartfelt energy. A viral sensation, Blum's music gained a wider audience after a song he recorded about Camila Cabello, from his 2017 album A.D.D., was retweeted by the singer on her personal account. Raised in Carmel Valley, California, Blum first began playing guitar in the sixth grade. However, he stopped playing as a freshman in high school, and didn't pick up the instrument again until college at UC Santa Barbara where he earned his communications degree. It was during this period that he fell in love with songwriting and decided to focus on a career in music. After graduating in 2013, he moved to Los Angeles and quickly found work as a songwriter for other artists. Along the way, he continued to pursue his own performance career and began uploading his songs online. In 2015, his video for his song about bullying, "Everyone's Got a Story," caught on as listeners began sharing the video and posting about their own personal experiences. That same year, Blum released his self-produced debut EP, Cloudy Head, which included the track. A full-length, A.D.D., arrived in 2017 and included the song "Camila Cabello." The track caught the ear of the "Havana" singer who then retweeted the video from her personal Twitter account. A second album from Blum, Comin' Up Short, also arrived in 2017. ~ Matt Collar
