Erik Bosgraaf

About Erik Bosgraaf

Erik Bosgraaf is widely considered one of the world's top players of the recorder; his attitude toward recorder repertoire, ranging far beyond typical Renaissance and Baroque works, is unusually adventurous. Bosgraaf released a box set of music by Jacob van Eyck in 2007. When this album found unexpected commercial success, he began to devote full time to his recorder career. He has made orchestral appearances not only with top Dutch orchestras, but elsewhere as well. He is the dedicatee of more than 100 commissioned works. Bosgraaf's interests have extended beyond contemporary concert music to jazz, electronics, and collaborations with filmmakers. Most of Bosgraaf's concerto recordings have been made with his Ensemble Cordevento, with which he has also appeared live. ~ James Manheim
