Emre Aydin first gained prominence in his native Turkey as the lead singer of the alternative rock duo 6.Cadde ("Sixth Street") in the early 2000s. Going solo after the success of the duo's first album, Aydin became even more popular following the release of his 2006 solo debut AFILI YALNIZLIK ("Ostentatious Loneliness"), which included the hits "Git" and the title track. His guitar-based, minor-key alternative rock, sung in his native tongue, is similar to American acts like Goo Goo Dolls and Chris Cornell.
