In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I learned to sing and play guitar with my Nana and Papa on the front porch of their country Oklahoma home. I sang in church and talent shows. I've always felt at home on stage. I sang along to Peter, Paul, and Mary, and loved Broadway theatre shows. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Depew, John Depew Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Split Lip Rayfield, Split Lip Rayfield The range of influences might be surprising! But I love homemade music, and having a good time. I've always loved soul, hip-hop, and country music. I had access to acoustic instrumentation. The string band influence is deep but irreverent. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Answer” Answer is unlike anything I've put out before. Stanley Hotel (Adam, Isaac, Doug) and Kelby Kimberlin all put amazing work into this song. I have wanted to explore my potential in rock music, and this song accomplishes the dream, for me. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The music video for my single, "Speak Again" premiered in Hollywood last year. I was hobnobbing in LA with filmmakers, namely Nicole Emmons, the animator of our video. We ate ramen and drank beers in the VIP room at Gourmand's Chinese Theater. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'm always going to be looking for the next song that describes a feeling I've never heard anyone convey before. The magic for me, is being able to sing about things I think about, that pull at my heartstrings, and reveal an unusual juxtaposition.
