When I was 17 and had only been playing guitar for three months, I ended up playing a song with Jimmy Buffett on the beach. He asked how long I’d been playing. I said six months. Tell us why you chose this song. “Mannequin” “Mannequin” is about shedding the version of yourself the world expects and discovering the person underneath. It’s a song about breaking free from the mask and finding your voice again. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career was hearing someone tell me a song I wrote meant something to them. That’s when you realize the music no longer belongs only to you—it’s part of someone else’s story too. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Playing the 30A Songwriters Festival is on my bucket list. It’s a place where great songs and storytelling take center stage, and the audience truly listens. Sharing that space with other writers would be something special.
