About Duke Robillard

Duke Robillard is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and bandleader. His warm sound and clean playing readily reference the history of American roots music -- jazz, blues, jump, swing, etc. After playing with Roomful of Blues for a decade, Duke Robillard & the Pleasure Kings appeared in 1984. Between 1989 and 1993, he was a member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Robillard signed with Stony Plain in 1999 for Conversations in Swing Guitar with Herb Ellis. 2004's Blue Mood: The Songs of T-Bone Walker won global acclaim. He returned to jazz on 2008's A Swinging Session. 2015's The Acoustic Blues & Roots of Duke Robillard won a Blues Music Award. 2017's Duke Robillard and His Dames of Rhythm showcased collaborations with women vocalists. In 2022, he released They Called It Rhythm and Blues, and the following year, with his jazz trio, he issued Smooth One. In 2024, he released Roll with Me, an album he'd begun in 2005.
